The symbol of the wind almost always represents the mixture of hardships and rewards that get sent to man kind from the heavens.  In Greek mythology, Aeolus gave Odysseus a favorable wind along with a sealed bag full of unfavorable wind.  In most Judaic religions, God is seen exerting his will by way of the wind.  This could come in the form of a harsh storm or a soothing breeze.

In the Baha'i faith[]

In the Baha'i faith the wind is best interpreted by the effect that it has on the other religious symbols .  Things like leaves, trees, waves and flowers are effected by the wind.  But, the wind is unpredictable.  Baha'is are encouraged to cling to the symbol of the Sun.  It represents the infallible word of God.  That means that the sacred text (represented by the Sun) is the alpha and omega of the Baha'i faith.  It is the only thing that can really be trusted. It is the only thing that makes the wind tolerable.

In Christianity[]

In the Book of Kings 1:19 , God appeared to Elijah.  The terrified prophet said "The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword.  I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too."  After that God sent Elijah to the mountain.  Then God sent a powerful wind to tear the mountain appart.  But, the prophet was not harmed.
